Just bought this today from the brother of the guy I bought a 1981 YZ465 & 1983 YZ100 yesterday. Santa has been very good to me. Check out that 2 foot long silencer/spark arrestor, and massive desert tank. lol

Thanks, it was uncanny how it all worked out. Now all I have to do is decide which one to race, lol. I will likely try them both back to back, and from what I have read, the 81 is probably going to be better for my needs (good low end without a light switch type power band) and tighter fork angle. They apparently did numerous small changes to the 81 that were all improvements overall, and if I want more power, I can easily get it.

I just noticed that you are from rhinelander wi. One of my uncles was with the group of guys that started the Hodag phenomenon. My mom even has a Hodag sticker on her suitcase, lol.

I don't remember for certain, but I think so. Is that the photo that was in the local paper at the time. There was also another photo at the time and he w definitely in one of the two. My grandma had them and showed them to me but that was around 30 years ago.
