Looking for some jetting specs and tips, currently running the stock carb, but it has been taper bored. The engine was rebuilt with some mild porting and I always run race fuel at 36:1. Typical race elevations here in So Cal are anywhere between 1000ft and 4000ft.
Got these from Tom Morgan...: ....168 main 50 pilot... R1368 needle 3rd clip. Of course pipes, carb mods, porting , Temps, fuel, riding conditions need to be taken into account.

I ran a 45 pilot in my CR500. It helped with starting and idling. I was running 110 octane and Klotz Supertechniplate at 40:1. Crisp...... Was also on 168 main.

Thanks for the reply.
Last night I tried the CEN needle (in the middle clip) that Sudco recommended. What a difference!! I set the air screw at 2 turns out and I have plenty of adjust-ability with the idle screw. Now I'm gonna see what pilot and main combo seem to work best with that needle.
Much appreciated Sandman!
Thanks Bret,
When I bought it, it came with a 165 main with a N82M #2 and a 52 pilot.
Tried a 170 main, needle in same position and a 55 pilot and it won't idle no matter how far I back the air screw out.
Going to try a 168 main, needle at #3 position and a 52 pilot. If that doesn't do the trick, I'll try a 50 pilot.
