I have a line on a well kept, low hour 01-02 (not sure which) KX 250 that I have ridden and know runs well. I'm having a hard time with coming up with a price to offer and what it's worth after a good once over if I don't race it in the Non-Current? Does anyone have any ideas? He said around $1,000??????

If it's truly low-hour and great shape, 1000 would be a steal in my opinion.

Forgot to mention, '99-'02 were very, very similar. I liked the stock engine better on my '01 than my '99, but other than that they're basically the same. I'd love to have my '01 back. I did a PC pipe/silencer, springs in the fork/shock, and loved it.

Only downside that I noticed with all my KX250's ('98-'01) was that they all ate reeds, and all on the lower right corner (as viewed from back of the bike). Never could figure out why.

I had the '99 and the '02. '99 was a much more aggressive bike, and although basically identical, the '02 was smoother and more refined. I'd bite his hand off for $1k; i'd love another one.

1k would be very good imo.

What do you think it would be worth after a good going over with a face lift?

In my area (PNW), ad prices for ok (not great) early-mid 2000's 250 2-strokes seem to be 2500-3500. Guessing they sell probably 2-3 after dickering by the buyers.

Holy smokes, I need to buy up some older KX's and list them up your way.

Thanks for the Info, I'll probably have to sign a CONTRACT with my wife that states I will sell it after I fix it up! I still have the other "FIXER" I bought. hahaha

I hate to say it but that sounds more like a 8-1200 dollar bike in the midwest unless it's very nice.

That's about what shape the one I'm talking about. One other question, the clutch pull is pretty stiff on it, aside from lubing/replacing the cable, is there any problems in the case/clutch arm I need to look at?
