Dear all,
This is my first post in this forum. My name is Tiago and I am from Portugal. 30 years ago my Dad gave me a KTM 80 MX. Its been sitting in a garage for almost 20 years. Now that I have decided to restore it, I have already nikasil coated the cylinder but can´t find the proper piston(std)...can anyone help me finding one?
Best regards and thanks for having me!
Tiago

Tiago, normally you want to have the piston first and then do the nikasil.

The early 1986 KTM 80s came with a 46mm piston and then later with a 48mm…which size cylinder do you have?

I just got two bikes last week and will begin restoration. I was told you can bore the 46mm cylinder to 47mm and use the new KTM 85 piston. Also I was told you can use the 86-02 CR 80 piston. There is supposed to be lots of spare parts on Spain.

Do you have more info on the parts source in Spain? I am looking for a KTM 80 shockabsorber. Thanks
