Just brought a new project and it's a big one!!
It's a cr125 but I don't know the year yet however it does have this prefix somewhere: CR125M-3109567.
As far as I can see it is missing the shocks, engine and airbox but it was so cheap I couldn't say no.
Does anyone have any parts of leads on parts preferably in the UK as that's where I am based

310 prefix is a 77 model. Plenty of parts out there for those.

Thanks I've found a fair few bits i need for it now but I still need a set of rims and a front hub and I'm not sure the forks are standard as they gave some strange top cap set up?

More than likely the circlip ones
Goki and DG made air caps for them
I have each somewhere in my junk

That bolt and washer secure the circlip to keep it from coming out accidentally. Not sure if that was ever a problem on the 75 model or not.

Lots of parts can interchange between the 74-78 models.

Ok great so the forks are ok, I will try to get ahold of a top cap.
Like I said the engine is missing and I can get ahold of a 1975 engine which will fit, the piston is easily available but I can only find a Conrod for the 77/78 is this interchangeable?
Will I have a problem with exhaust choice being a 75 engine in a 77 frame?
Ideally I would like to match the years and do it 100 Percent but the parts just aren't available in the UK.

A 77-78 rod kit will fit, but chances are it's isn't a 77-78 kit to begin with. Most people have been using a later model rod kit from the 79-84 model CR125 (same as RM125 from around 81-84(?) but those have a larger lower crank pin and the crank halves have to be machined to fit the larger pin. Holly Equipment in Japan has recently been offering a correct rod kit for the 74-78. Here is a link to their ebay page where you can contact them or look up their facebook page.

74-78 exhausts will all fit on the bike the same but the 76-78 has a larger exhaust manifold where the pipe slips on. The manifolds will swap between cylinders from 74-78.

Can't seem to post photos but further strip down reveals that it has what seems to be suzuki front rim and yamaha rear off what I don't know so it's really a tank swing arm frame and seat which are original, the forks I'm still not sure on.
With that being said still in 2 mind as to whether restore or not as it will take an awful lot of money as 90 percent of stuff has to come from USA and the import charges are extortionate, we're it complete I would go for it but its missing more than its got.
What are your thoughts?

Unless it’s a Maico or CZ or something rare which a 77cr is not, you are going to have to determine how much you have an emotional attachment to a 77 CR125. Because you’ll never come close to getting your money and time back that you put into it. It’s not crazy, lots of old men do it Heck, I even know someone that put his efforts into a 81 CR250. Now that’s crazy
