Has anyone tried this?
Just had a little go, rear seems fine if you use the 87 spacer on the disc side and the 94 on the sprocket side, not looked at front yet.

Fronts require a bit more work. You need spacers to sleeve the bearings down. 87's have 17mm axles, the later bikes have 20mm.

You are absolutely right the rear slides straight in, i used the 87 spacers but not sure it was necessary.
Regarding the front would you be able to make me some spacers please?
