Help identify unknown muffler

Hi
A friend of mine that used to race in the 80's gave me this old "Honda" muffler.
I was hoping someone could tell me what model bike it is for.
I'm assuming it must be a stock muffler since it has federal laws stamped on it.

I think you are right. Doing a Google image search looks the same . He has never said he owned a cr500 haha

There were a few out there that were like a regular silencer with a spark arrestor built on and angled down. Answer comes to mind.
