I’ve tried to find some NOS hardware like linkage bolts and swingarm bolt with no luck. I’m looking for a place that can replace some of this harware. Can anyone suggest a place that I can ship items to and have them plated?

I have a batch out right now to OverNight Plating in Rochester NY. Supposedly 1 week turn around... 50-60$ for small batch of bike hardware. I can report back when I receive them if you like... I had them do the batch is Yellow Zinc, as many Original Honda bolts had the Yellow Zinc.

This just in... 1 week turnaround ... quality is the best I have used.... photos donot do this stuff justice, it looks just like Honda yellow zinc... I know not all the bolts on a Honda are the yellow zinc, but I just wanted 1 batch.... and I”m ok with this awesome yellow zinc on my 94 👍

Sandman did you do any prep to these before send them out and is there limit on what a "small batch" is. Have a bikes worth of hardware I'd like to get done. Smile

This was considered batch & 1/2, I added in some stuff, so more than just 1 bike. He has a rack that he considers 1 small batch, if it fills the rack, I guess it’s another or 1/2 batch... still a bargain if you ask me. I did prep the parts. 1. Degreased them, then brake parts cleaner, then Brass wheel wheel on my bench grinder....Anything that I wanted to come out really nice, like my axles, I spent a little more time on them. My rear axle had some hammer marks on both ends, I carefully cleaned it up with various files & die grinder, it was worth it as it looks like new. So, the more you put into prep, the better they will come out.

The finish is oem quality and the turn around time was 1 week! I have used another guy for plating that took months! I don’t replate that often anymore but when I do, it will be this guy👍

Before I send out hardware for plating I buy an extra hardware lot from the same (or close to) bike off ebay. Like Sandman said, I also cleanup with jewelers files first.

Agree 100% on the 2nd set of hardware. Many of the parts I sent are NLA and even hard to find on eBay. I have so little confidence in USPS that I sent it UPS.

Just wanted to bring this topic back up as I just dropped 2 bikes worth of Cagiva WMX hardware off at the post office to have ROP plate in yellow zinc. Most of the Cagiva hardware is yellow zinc so I'm just going to get it all done. I thought to add some of my 80 CR 250 hardware and my MX3 but just ran out of time to clean everything. Prep is definitely everything, I ultrasonic cleaned everything and then wire wheeled it before sending it out. You can take it to the next level and file/sand some of the more ugly hardware but I tend to build more racers than show pieces.

One more thumbs up for Mike @ Overnight Plating.

One week turnaround.

$70 for the parts I sent him.

Shipped the parts back before I even received a bill.  (Probably not standard practice, but nice to know if you need a quick turnaround.)

Everything looks great...better than the picture shows.

Easy to work with...prep your parts, box them up with your info and what you want done and ship them off.  Any questions and Mike is just phone call/email away.
