Ive had a few challanges this past year and it got me thinking of friends I have in my life. The people I call my friends are all great humans. There's not a single one that I could not call at 3 a.m. to post bail or come help me if my car was broke down 50 miles away. And all but one Ive known for over 30 years and met them racing motocross. I don't know the person I would have turned out to be if I didn't race Motocross as a kid. I really am a fortunate person . I'd still expect any one of them to take my front wheel out racing for a 9th spot of a 50+ class too.

I agree.
All my 'friends' ride dirt scooters.
Everyone else is an 'acquaintance.'

Right on the money. Funny story about moto friends. I was in college and sharing a storage unit with another guy I met racing (for our bikes gear etc). One day I see this guy riding up the street on a clapped out KX. I called my buddy to ask if he had seen this tool riding up and down the street. He said he hadn’t. About a week later he called me and said “hey I’ve got this friend from my class, he wants to split the unit with us.” No problem, I go to meet him. Guess who...yep, the guy on the KX. The funny part is that we became good friends and years later he was the best man at my just never know.

I have good friends for riding. My youngest sons godfather is an old racing friend.
I have good friends from shooting and collecting.
I have good friends from my neighborhood and great friends from when out kids went to school together.
I have good friends from work.
It's nice to have friends with varied backgrounds.

The older I get, the faster I was.

Well said.I haven't been able to ride breaking my back in 2002, but I still have no better friends than my "old" moto friends.Heck when I was racing if one of our bikes would break... there would be one of your competitor/ friends to help fix it and even loan parts if we had them.

I'm not sure if this fits in with this thread or not. I recently completed a major downstairs & kitchen remodeling project of my house. Of the 6 companies or contractors I dealt with on this project 4 of them were Motocross friends.

MX Friend Contractor Work
Cabinet making/installing

All of the above work was done with ZERO problems.

Non-MX Friend Contractor Work
Flooring procurement/installation
Appliance procurement, delivery, installation

There were a number of problems with the Non-MX friend contractors/companies.
