Thought I had seen every photo of Chandler but just came across this one. I dig it.

Love it!
It certainly captures the excitement Magoo brought to the track. This looks like it could be Sears Point TransAMA, the day Nor Cal Maico Boys Shultz & Magoo cleaned up both international and support classes, I'm a witness, but I remember the coastal haze hung most of that day, but maybe it did clear 2nd motos? Could have been my own Humboldt hazed recollection limitations I suppose.

Thanks for posting it up.

Yea, those guys were both on it that year. We went to saddleback same year for the 125/250 national. Danny jumped the Magoo double for the first time. I think I was most blown away watching him huck it off the downhill. Not sure I remember it right but I think the Maico broke under the punishment both motos.

Same day as this shot. It was a trip, because he wasn't anywhere near the front, and just started playing. He was hanging the back end out over the fence over the heads of spectators at the jump that shot was at, starting to hint at that pancake in that iconic flat whip shot on the factory honda. People were running from fence to fence as if they were following a close battle, but no one was paying a lot of attention to the leaders.

79, year after the 78 Shu and Magoo Sears Norcal sweep (a day BobbyM went 6/dnf on his own Maico in 250 support).

The first time I saw Magoo ride was at Spillway Park on his KTM 125, I don't think he used his foot pegs

When I see pics of Danny I get sad. I didn't know him but you can see in ever pic without a helmet he was smiling and every pic with a helmet he was giving it his all and then some. If the only bad words people could say about him was you didn't want him within 20 feet of you on the track that isnt that bad. He is a personality and a hero that the sport needed and will never have again

Those are some great pics of Danny. I saw him not to long before he passed. I was going to post the pictures but just not sure it's appropriate for this post. I raced my second race against him at McGill's Cycle Park. McGill's is now known as Prairie City OHV the home of Hangtown. I wasn't personal friends with Danny but knew a lot of his friends and 3 of his mechanics. He was the guy you thought he was. Always humble and smiling even in the face of adversity. Always stylin' in first or last. He invented the Bubba scrub when Stewart was in daipers. He was the only one who did it at the time. That's because he was the only guy who could pull off the move. Dude had the strongest handshake, like a vise. I feel very honored to have been witness to this motocross legend.

I didn't know BobbyM rode support class back then. If he rode Marco I was cheering him on for sure.

This is probably around 1975 give or take. Can't remember. Must have been that Humboldt haze Tumblin talks about.

YOU KNOW THE SAYING, if you can remember the 70's you weren't there. carry on.

Could you imagine him on a modern 450 works bike. I am sure he could have invented some new moves that we have not even seen yet.

They'd have to clear the skies of airplanes wherever he was racing.

Out of shape but still on the gas roostin. Always stylish even with a leg flapping in the wind. Looks like he's about to do a nac nac.

It is. That was a great day for Norcal MX. Schultz and Magoo sweep. Doesn't get any better than that.

Being a HUGE Magoo fan - looking at that pic literally gives me chills up the spine - it was the first AMA pro MX I ever attended live.

This is one of the best pics I've seen of Magoo. Did you take it?

Two are Argyll for sure. The top one is Helvetia.
