I have been in a search for a 94 yz 80 for a few months now. I was in 4th grade and would look at the magazine ads of this bike every day. My dad would take me to the dealer to get parts for my 89 yz80 which I raced and I would stare at this new bike with its modern design, upside down forks and (then) cool looking graphics. So i found this bike which is all original down to the factory warning stickers on the fenders. I firmly believe this thing cant have more than about 15 hrs on it. So anyway i thought i would share

I plan on letting the wife ride it, and if she likes riding maybe get her a bike of her own.

Man that is a beauty ... I came up riding in the same era you did, so these early/mid 90's bikes are my obsession too, even the cheesy graphics are beautiful!

Awesome find! Funny how years later we get so excited about seeing a bone stock bike.

Great to see, I totally understand! I dreamt about the 93-94 YZ 80 aswell. I add some photos from my local dealer. As you can see the 93 was sold with large wheels in sweden. The Swedish importer built them.

The KX was also pretty cool

I ended up with one of those, a 94 model.Traded a same year xr100 engine for it. it's equipped with a fmf pipe ,silencer, V force reeds, it runs, needs the once over. The plastic's and seat's a little chewed I call it the ufo yz cause to me all the mid 90's to present have that spaceship look. I'm kind of partial to the early to mid 80's yz's.I shouldn't turn my nose up at it cause it does come with some neat stuff but it's not what I rode as a kid....

I have also been looking for a clean yz80 and I finally found one. Now the question is if I should restore it or just clean it and leave it as it is. It hase a quite nice patina, still original tires Smile

A restore would be very tempting, but I think you would get more joy by just cleaning it up and actually riding it. It certainly is no beater.

That is bad ass. That's the first new bike my parents bought for me after my 84 cr60. Man I thought I was the baddest dude and was going to go on and break all the sx and mx records haha

I also wish I had taken photos of these bikes at the dealer back when! Keep them original when they are in that condition!! Someone needs to start a new thread with dealer photos back in the day?

I bought this from the original owner about ten years ago for $50!
