FOX Shox Twin Clicker

Edited Date/Time 2/4/2015 9:45am
Hey guys,
I'm looking for an early 80's FOX Shox Twin Clicker shock for FOX Shox's soon to be open museum. If you have or know of somebody who would like to donate one to the cause that would be awesome. I can put you in touch with the guy putting together the display. If your ever in Scotts Valley, CA. stop by FOX Shox and check out the dispaly. It will be very cool and tons of history will be covered. Marty Smith and Kent Howerton will be well represented.

Really, send all your free shocks to the company
that makes shocks. That sounds like a good idea!
No, actually I will pay top dollar for a 1981 YZH twin clicker and see to it that it gets to where it needs to go. Trust me, no one there is asking for anything free. If anyone had something to donate, then I'm sure they would be extremely grateful.

And yes Kent Howertons championship winning Husky is already there!

The Marty Smith "Replica" bike is on a plane somewhere between the other side of the world and here. Why build a cobbed up replica when you can just start out with a real RC five hunny....Wink Caged fury, headed to America!

Newmann the shock in the pic was sent to me from FOX Shox. Looks like the owner has chimed in here on this thread. They hope to find one shock and would more than likey pay for the shock at a reasonable price for the opportunity to have it in their display. They will have Kent Howerton's Husky that Bob Fox bought from Kent and some cool Marty Smith memorbilia. I'm just trying to help out a company I worked at for some years. Yes Newmann you hit it on the head the bike is there. For you rob your stupid ass remark is uncalled for. Go back and play with your dolls and stay away from the keys on your computer as they bring the dumbass out of you.

Dan Geery,
No , you are the dumb ass. Did your Momma type your first post?
You have the word DONATE in the post!

You mean to tell everyone that the powerhouse of suspension companies cannot come up with one twin clicker
Shock?

Really? Who made the originals? What about the current fox show manufacturing facilities?
They should be able to machine a copy in minutes!

Come on WTF!

Fox sold what they built and they changed with the times. It's not all about firing up the machines and building something, it's about collecting bits of their past. There were only 200 sets of the original single pressure Fox Air's mfgd. in 1975 and unfortunately Fox owned none. I ,through the help of a good friend ,was able to dig up one extremely nice set of them, one rough set and one single rough one. Fortunately the lower shaft and dampening adjusters were all good and upper bodies from dual pressure shocks can be used as necessary for the restoration of the shocks. The entire Fox family is moto to the core and have the desire to preserve their past although much of it has been sold off to fund the next years efforts over the years. I've had the pleasure of helping them bring back a few things and work on some very special projects the past couple of years.

And no, Fox Twin Clicker monoshocks are few and far between. Maybe you have a few stashed away you'd like to sell? Cash in hand.

Pete Fox has been buying up all sorts of old fox stickers, posters, jackets etc on Ebay . He bought a lot of about 125 original fox stickers I have had from the 70s 80s and 90s. Do you know if he Is doing that for the museum ? I also know where my old pair of FOX colors red and yellow Scott plastic boots are, the guy I gave them to has them tucked away in a box in his basement with a lot of old fox gear.

Again,
The original post asked for a donation to a multi millionaire's display?
Did it not?

DONATION=free

Buy= $$$$.

Is someone lost in translation?

Fox Inc sold for ? $$$$$$$. At least I will look it up .
He still owns Fox factory.
Another 10-15 years all the old moto stuff will be worth minimal $$

Times are a changing

Oh, I forgot dirt bikes are a important part of world history!
Let alone something as simple a a shock absorber.

Fox factory Inc did $50 million in sales in 2012
Bob Fox is the president
I am glad you are buying shocks to give to him!
that is about as stupid as stupid gets!

Spending alot of money on a dirtbike is pretty foolish.

I spend money on booze, and hot women.

Hey Rob, you always this personable?Laughing Or just obviously hitting that booze a little early. I haven't given anything away since you seem to have lost a little something in translation there. It's all good, and the Fox family are great people who I can guarantee you are not looking for anything free.

Rob's pretty consistently a jerk here and the swap meet and wherever else I'm sure. Maybe not Applegate worthy, but nonetheless.. Wait tip he tells you what a crappy job KT did on the head because he's the one and only who can do anything in a machine shop, and by god you cheap bastards better realize it.

I do not normally resurrect old threads but I was googling for some info on a shock that I am working on and google found this. I remember when it happened.
LMFAO, another classic meltdown by a goob who seems to really have issues with people of integrity, not to mention the English language, grammar, spelling, etc.

I'm still of the belief that Rob (Bobby) Boucher is the Adam Sandler's character in the waterboy.

I read all his posts in that voice.

Another episode of Seinfeld hahaha ! Love this place.
On edit : I work in a machine shop as well ( tool and die - mold )
What I do is run daily about 10-15 on my lunch hour, that and have my dumbells in
the office. It really helps ease the stress and lower blood pressure pressure.
Want to stay healthy for moto and women.

Well, the good news is that the Fox museum got everything they were looking for. Bought and paid for in a very generous manner. You would be hard pressed to find a finer pair of gentlemen than the Fox brothers. Bob, Geoff and Pete Fox, along with several other key members of Fox Head and Fox Racing were a pleasure to deal with over the course of a couple years.

The 77 Team Reunion party for the wife and I was just icing on the cake. Nothing but respect here.

The only difference between a fox twin clicker from back then and the current shocks you get on a new bike is the slippery coatings and slightly more adjustment. The overall design is the same. Shims to control flow and bypass passages to provide adjustment. Fox was ahead of his time.

I have a twin clicker on my 81 cr250 and a twin clicker ressy on my 79 yz400. Smile

Anyone do the twin clicker 83+ CR reservoir on the Yamaha mono-shocks ( 77 - 81 ) ?
I've seen this offered on eBay.

Yes. My 79 yz shock has a fox ressy from a mid 2000s quad shock. Just need a 12.5" long 1/8 male end npt hose.
