I bet Jeff was the kind to always give informative feedback to help get what he wanted out of the bike. I remember when his father, Gary, built a trick rear disc brake on Jeff's KX 80. We had to go to the sand track a few times to test it out and get Jeff's feedback on it. Gary's big concern was how the disc brake would affect the rebound in the rear. Needless to say, Jeff liked it and went on to beat Damon at Ponca.

I've got a 97 issue of dirt bike magazine where emigs works bike is tested, and it goes into how much testing emigs did to get the bike right. Emig was very underrated as to what a hard worker he was. Not the greatest natural talent, but great at testing and developing his race bikes.

Yep, Jeff knew his bikes and what to look for. Remember though, up to about 17 Jeff lived in Kansas City and didn't get to really practice much during the winter like many others did. Yet, he could still run with and beat Damon Bradshaw, and all the rest. I would not exactly say he didnt have natural talent. That pic of Jeff standing on the pegs leaning way over in the turn on his Yamaha says it all. Wink Jeff was always very humble, even when then the partying ways got to him. The most amazing thing is that he used to stutter real bad, and he overcame it to become an announcer!

The fear of public speaking to me is terrifying. Jeff overcoming a stutter to be a TV announcer is more impressive to me than his riding achievements.

My favorite works bike of all time. Followed closely by the 1983 Yamaha works bikes.

The right side case guard was a Works Connection part. I thought I had found one for my built but it never materialized.

Luka in Italy can make you the CF skid plate. You will just have to fabricate your own mounting taps and weld them to the frame.

I think Dirk in Holland has or can get you the axle blocks. I planned on buying them but my project sunk before I got the chance.

I think the works connection was a copy of the KHI waterpump guard, same with how they copied the HRC waterpump guard for the hondas. Luka does some nice Carbon stuff but i believe Pat's after everything genuine KHI etc. to make the bike perfect. Pat's had parts off Dirk for this so i'm sure he's already checked with him for axle blocks too...

I'm shocked that the factory bike would route the front brake cable like the production bikes of that time and not directly up out of the caliper like Honda

Ive got 10 sets of full works forks from conventional 88's all the way through to Lusk's 50mm from 04 and everything in between.
For the full on factory forks pricing starts at £2000 a pair,no clamps im afraid just the forks as a pair, most with the factory guards.
The kit forks on the right are for a kxf or kx 2 stroke,we will have those with the kit shock to match listed in our ebay shop.
