Get a new hub....why risk more aluminum floating around in your gearbox....

Good move...it obviously will only get worse. Do you have a pic of the bike you can post? I have an '86 CR250 myself,
and love admiring them!

Looking good! Looks like you did water pump housing conversion? Are you going to ride/race it? They are amazing bikes for sure, so please keep us updated on your progress and enjoy!

Thanks. I am going to race that sucker! When you say “water pump housing conversion”, do you mean changing it to an ‘89? If so, I did not. Kept the original clutch cover.

So I received the new hub. It’s a little different from the one that was in the bike. Not sure if the one in the bike was OEM as I bought it 2nd hand(4th hand actually). They’re both the same diameter and bolt pattern however the back looks different and the inner portion also is slightly different. Think it’s ok to use?

The old one is on the left:
