So tonight I stumbled on the "Being Evel" 2015 documentary, it was free on my xfinity cable package.

I'm 43, and I remember having the toy bike. But the more I thought about the timeline, the more the pieces came together.

Evel brought jumping into the mainstream and became popular in 67-ish. It's also evident that his jumps exposed an entire generation to the concept of flight on a motorcycle, which is pretty cool. But the important part... Supercross was really born in 1972 (I'm familiar with the European stadium races in the 50s, but what those didn't have was big air).

Was Evel the catalyst for combining the big jumps AND motocross into our stadium formula?

I'm sure this may have been discussed before, but mostly I wanted to let you guys know the documentary was on for free haha!!

It's on Hulu, too. Watched it the other day and really liked it.
