I just picked up a 90 YZ-250 to rebuild and race, does anyone know of a new wide peg direct swap for this year? These little sticks are not going to cut it.

On my 89 CR-250 I can install the new YZ and YZ-F titanium pegs straight up but this frame has a smaller foot print on the peg mounts.

I have an '89 YZ250 with pegs from an '06 YZ250 on it. I had to grind a little bit off the post that the spring goes around and they work great.

Cool, thanks for the info. I will take a look at this over the weekend. Did you use the 89 springs and pins or the 06 parts?

I believe I used the 06 springs and the pins I'm not sure. It's been a few years since I built the bike.

I used modern ktm pegs on my 81 yz 465.had to reduce them with a grinder a little , but was easy as they have moulded in spacers

I think these were 2012 yz450f pegs......fit my 89 yz250 with a little mod, i think i had to squash the spring coils a bit.

I was able to grab a set from an 08 but I do not like how they setup with the spring (even when modified to fit) so I will be grabbing another set of the newer 2014-2018 pegs and trying them out. Thanks for the feedback on what you have used on your upgraded pegs.

I used Fastway pegs on my 1992...opens up the cockpit a little bit, and the reversible bushing was easy to machine down to size to fit the YZ frame. I think most pegs are pretty similar in angle, but the Fastways can be adjusted for camber, etc.

Sorry to resurrect this old thread, but I'm running into a problem with my 94 YZ restore. I had a pair of '14 YZ250 pegs laying around so I cut the peg posts so that they will fit into the narrow 94 mount slot. However, I'm finding that 14 springs are very tall and I basically have to hammer these things into place to get the pin through. While they are mounted, they seem so tight, that they don't actually spring back. I've also tried to grind a little off of the top side of the peg and file the mount a bit. Is there anyone who has done this that can update this thread with any photos or offer any suggestions?

Steel frame Honda pegs fit and has stated newer YZ pegs... on a side note: does anyone have an oem front sprocket cover like on this YZ they would sell? Yamaha used this cover for many years and for some reason I have not been able to find one on eBay. Looks like they may be available new but I”m trying to keep a resto from getting out of hand😂
