Nice, I am thinking the same thing this year. I am building a stock 87 CR 125 to go play in my modern Vet class. Should be fun.

Very nicely done. Just enough modern bits to keep it looking really sharp, but not overdone.

Great stuff.

An overbored classic 125 with some modern updates is a great way to take the fight to the modern 250f's.

I like the retro colour scheme too.

Wolfy, awesome bike! I'm trying to find a set of black wheels for my '89 250, rear is easy but front isn't. Looks like you got the complete rear and relaced the front? Is this the way you did it? I would love to get a set for mine, thanks for your time.

Cody, stock hubs, Sport Motor Service in Newmanstown P.A. found the spokes and wheels for me, Owner Dave is an old motocrosser and know the industry like no other. Look him up.

Ahh the memories, I raced against Larry back in 81-83 on KX 80's, he was stupid fast and would hold that throttle on until it cracked and then kept it there all day, I never really had any chance beating him but I tried real hard every weekend.

They really are great machines, i can hold back 450's at vet races, This bike has won some races at Southwick also,

Have some Ytube videos of the bike at various tracks, one is racing agains 250's and 500's they get me on the start but after that smoked them all.

Eric Gorr does the cylinder and Head, he has this package dialed in, on this bike ui put a carb from 98cr it's 36mm my other one runs a 35.5 kehin air Stryker with good results, 52 or 53 rear sprocket, DEP pipe gives best all around, PC exhaust all top end

What is the steering damper from ?
The damper set up is from 2008- crf Honda, I weld on the lug to frame before powder coating then tap a thread into lower triple tree, then run a Cycra stadium front plate so nothing hits when turning .

You can, they usually have a cylinder on the shelf, or if you want your origional just request that. Memory sevves me righ 600.00 with plating, kit comes with Wosner piston all gaskets, boringing plating and head work, again nice package.
Will give you better puloff the corner.

Interested with the steering damper, i have not experienced head shake with the 89? My 87250 can get your attension at times.

I have got 40-50 cr's from the 80's and 90's,
And when I restore them I always add the steering damper lug to the chassis so if anyone wants to add a damper it's real easy.
I'll contact Eric Gott about the 144 kit, do you have his contact details,
Thanks

Hi Wolfy, Nice job although I `m not sure on the blue seat cover, or is it just me being a bit picky ?
My son races over here in the UK on an 89 and i`m just finishing an 89 CR250 and at some time hope to add an 89 CR 500 to the collection.
just as a matter of interest do you have for sale any trick parts for the 89`s eg Ohlins, WP, Mugen etc.
If so please e-mail me what you have to graham.exton@btopenworld.com
Many Thanks Graham.

Suspension is modified stock, Though about opine but the Showa suspension on the 89 was real good, the engine is a 144 kit big carb runs real strong, it's been a pipe selection, HRC, DEP, FMF , ProCircuit And Stock so Far DEP for overall broadest power delivery, just picked up the FMF still need to test

And you are now officially bumped up to the ACR Pro Class.

That means you start facing backwards and your spark plug and a wrench in your hand. You cannot install the spark plug until the gate drops. That should give others a fighting chance.

Good job on the bike.
