I have a 1986 kx250 has a burnt piston the last time it was rebuilt the cylinder was sent to la sleeve and fixed but now I think is f.u.b.a.r. so I was wanting to see if any other year model cylinder will work on the 86

Matt, post up some photos of your bike & problem...sounds like you need to address why it "burnt" first...cylinders can be repaired.

That was a one year cylinder for the '86 KX250. The '86 and '87 Tecate used the same cylinder as the '86 KX250.
