The '86 cr125 I picked up last summer has a silencer/ hacked spark arrestor from a '79-'80? Cr250. No bueno

I have been keeping my eye out for a used oem sankei 2242 silencer but to no avail. I have found a couple of '85 silencers which can be an option.

Aftermarket is limited to dg or dep usa from my research. I'm not a dg fan and dep is a quality brand

For a temporary solution I was thinking of picking up a used 90s-00s cr125 silencer since they are cheap and bending the silencer pipe with a emt bender to match the kick for the 86 frame. If the mounting holes don't match up I can make a bracket of some sort out.

Anyone dealt with this on '86 cr125 builds and have any input.

Silencers are pretty simple to make work on most old bikes. I have used a a Pro Circuit 93-95 RM 125 silencer on several projects where it just needed a little heat to bend and bolt right up. I’ve also noticed that the 88-89 KX 125 silencer is very straight and would be a good one to work with.
