Picked up a CR250R 1982 a few days ago.
Does anyone know if the impeller and shaft for the waterpump is avaiable anywhere? Or is used parts the only way to go?
The internal parts is missing, and a electric waterpump was installed with a batteri in the airbox :-).

Will have to keep looking then.

I have a 81 250 cover if you want me to measure it. Do you have an 81 125 cover to measure? As you might know the 81's are hot commodities because you can use them in place of the crap magnesium 82 and 83 covers. I have an 81 spare and one on my 83 250.
What is wrong with your 81 cover or perhaps it got robbed for the above purpose? Don't hear problems on the aluminum ones often.

I had it listed on ebay but I ended the listing because some problem when I listed it, I could not find it when I did a search, only thru my account...
im about to start the 86/89 case swap on my 1986 250
Thanks to all who have contributed to this thread and others with this vital information. I will post pictures of the process for others.
For those interested, Ive done the 89 cover swap on my 87
According to my measurements:
spring cup in 87 case sits approx 7.44mm from case edge
spring cup in 89 case sits approx 5.36mm from case edge
difference : approx 2.08mm
Spring w/ spring cup : approx 65.99mm
Spring w/ no spring cup : approx 64.47mm
difference : approx 1.52mm
Seeing as how the 89 powervalve spring has no cup, I decided to get rid of the 87 spring cup. The spring sits nicely on the existing "lip" of case.
Removing the cup leaves a remaining approx 0.56mm to bore out
Ive decided to not do any boring, seeing as how it is such a small amount, and see how it works.
I will get back with results , thanks to those who have contributed to this thread so far
