Need a little help. Picked up this gem of a bike recently and I'm going through it to get ready for the race season. It's a 77 RM 125 that has a bunch of LOP goodies and the stuffed a TS 185 motor in it with factory kitted hop up kit. Smile .

I'm looking for part number for the hop up kit mainly the intake boot and I also need to know what rear sprocket to buy as the RM was upgraded to a 520 chain kit. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Also the bike appears to be built bike Suzuki of Waukegan? Any information on the dealership would be cool as Google doesn't come up with anything.

i thought you could bolt pe 175 top ends on those rms? maybe it was the later model..

never heard of a ts175 factory hop up kit.

i know yam made yz175s and those engines are very rare and sort after..

looks a beaut either way have fun..

PE share the same engine cases as the RM but the stroke was longer.

You could get hop up kits for the TS until the PE came out. Basically TM top ends.

I think you should go back to the 428 chain. Chains have to be made better than in 77.To me the 520 looks to big on those bikes

Looks normal to me. The TS185 came with a 520 so fronts are easy to find I am just hoping the back hub has something similar that is readily available. Like the TS185 rear sprockets.

It has a 11/46 on it but I'd like to go 12/50.

You guys correct me if I’m wrong, I thought the rule of thumb was 1 on the countershaft was equal to 4 teeth on the rear. So, you would have the same ratio from 11/46 to 12/50

Gear ratios made easy, although the rear wheel/tire diameter comes into play as well...

I'm not trying to change much just trying to get better life out of the counter shaft sprocket as 11 teeth on a 520 chain is not a lot.

I've posted these links a couple times. Not only does it offer ratios, it also offers diameters and number of chain links required. Found it handy when trying to calculate weight of the components for a project bike and deciding between 420, 428 and 520. I've seen people using the 420 series chain and sprockets on some 100cc bikes.

Damn I would kill for that. I probably know the guys that built that. A few of my buddies worked there or rode for them back than. They also worked at LOP which was also in Waukegan. PM me your E-Mail address and I'll see what I can do.

I just PM you. Thanks for any help. I mostly want to know if they defeated the auto oil setup correctly but any other information would be awesome.

I fired it up yesterday and laughed as I rode it around my house. Lots of wfo and shifting to keep it going at a moderate pace. Should be a hoot to race this year!

Cool, that is the bike. Where was that?

I started going through it the other day and it doesn't look like it was ridden much and the 30 year old tires took some persuasion to remove but everything looks great.
