Hi!
I am building a 74 125 for vintage racing this next season and I am needing (wanting) a few cool aftermarket bits for the bike. I am after a set of shocks, an aluminum swingarm and a trick looking head. It is curretly painted up like a 75 but plan to change that. Please let me know if you can help. Thanks!

.
"DG PERFORMANCE 1974 1975 HONDA ELSINORE CR125M 17 FIN CYLINDER HEAD - NO DAMAGE"
And the description reads.
"INCLUDES AN AWESOME RARE, UNDAMAGED, NOT CHIPPED, NOT ALTERED, DG HEAD FOR YOUR 74/75 ELSINORE CR125M. PLEASE SEE THAT I'VE WIPED THIS CLEAN, BUT I NOTICED AFTER TAKING PHOTOS THAT THE INNER COMPRESSION AREA IS SHOWING 3 TO 5 SPECS. THOSE ARE JUST DIRT FROM MY RAG. MY APOLOGIES. I HAVE NOT RECOATED IT. I'LL LEAVE THAT TO YOU. RUN IT 100% AS IT IS, OR CLEAN IT TO PAINT IT BEFORE USING. NO DAMAGE, YOU'LL SEE TYPICAL PREDETONATION IN OUTER CYLINDER SQUISH AREA, PRETTY TYPICAL OF THE DAY, BUT MINIMAL. GREAT OVERALL CONDITION."
The Shop
Got the whole thing torn down to the frame right now and it is getting a full gone through along with a fresh motor!
I haven't checked out prices for cr125 stuff since I built my 1974 model in 1992. At that time I bought a nice fmf porcupine head and a nice dg for around $50.00 each. The aluminum dg swingarm was around $100.00. Got a deal on works performance shocks. A used fmf or dg pipe cost me $50.00. Porting and a reed valve from mossberger was around $300.00. I bought several cerriani and betor forks with tripple trees for $20.00 - $50.00 a set. Heck, I think i only paid around $350.00 for the entire bike at that time, lol.
I recently bought a 1980 yz250 to vintage race, and fortunately it was already ported by dg and had the rear shock modified by white brothers and the damper rods were modified by scotts performance and it had an answer silencer, so i didn't have to fork out another $2500.00 trying to make it work decent.
As far as rebuilding it goes, if you are not familiar with these, if you see anything that even remotely looks like wear on the gear cogs or slots or shift forks, replace them with brand new parts, because they love to pop out of gear after the trans has very little wear.
Also, it is extremely easy to over port and over carb them.
The Webco head always seems to be the least expensive of the aftermarket heads but is the coolest running of them all. Big fins, lots of them and even has fins on the underside similar to the stock CR250M. It is also the heaviest one, right there with the extruded DG head.
