Powervalve And transmission parts are NLA. I recently build a 1998 KX250 and found those where the difficult to get parts.

Thanks for your input...Like a lot of 90”s bikes, parts inventories are getting scarce. I just happened to pick up an NOS Pro Circuit raw pipe for the 95-97, figured I would find a bike to put it on.....

They were great bikes. I'd love to get one for a project, but haven't found the right candidate yet.

Easy bike to restore IMO. The hardest thing I fought for was the works pipe, well you already have that. Also any kx450f fork will slide right into these clamps.

want to sell the raw pipe?

I”m going to look at a “ candidate” tomorrow, looks decent in the photos, but you know how that goes....it’s close by so it’s worth taking a look at....we”ll see....

Yes, I did some research, it looks like most parts are still available either aftermarket or oem...I have always been able to find what I need for most of my 90”s restores...sometimes just have to be patient. If the bike I”m looking at turns out to be a beater, I will give you first option on the PC pipe...I was not specifically looking for a 97 KX250 but if it is clean enough I will add it to th stable....I just like building bikes...

Lately I have been into bringing them back to the OEM look....I usually decide what direction to go during the tear down phase...if it’s pretty clean & original I will just bring it back with mostly OEM parts...depends if I plan on making it a rider or garage queen.

Sure do. I built it to race Unadilla rewind. I typically take it each weekend if there’s room, in fact I’m taking it south with me next week.

I”m going to look at this bike today....I figured if it had the KIPS death rattle I would walk away, but who knows, if the rest of the bike is decent I may just pick it up....

I always see the diamond in the rough but, this bike needed everything, I have done enough of those bikes to know they are losers....Very hard to find a clean 90”s bike...

Check out some Facebook groups for the Kx bikes, pretty sure somebody has been reproducing a lot of these NLA valves....

My son does the same thing. Picks up parts then the bike. He bought a couple pc pipes and restored 1 of them so far. Pulls any dents and cleans them up and heat treats em. Think his last were for 2001 kx 250s. Photo
