1995 Honda CR 250

Just picked one up yesterday. The suspension appears to be stock and my guess it has never been modded.
What suspension service might someone recommend for a rebuild and re-valve to deal with the original issues with 95 Stock suspension?

Factory Connection has/had some magical numbers for those CRs. They worked over my '92CR back in 97/98 and it was amazing. I sent them a full sheet of feedback on what I wanted corrected but numerous people told me to send it to Ziggy. They were just in NH back then.

I know it'd been 10+ years, but if it were me with this bike, I'd at least give them a call.

Congrats on the bike. If anywhere close to my 92, it is a great bike.

I have a '95 with 2004 CRF forks with APPLIED triple clamps and rear shock installed by the previous owner.

Local guy here in Michigan does suspension for a living and races a 1995 CR 250. His bike is amazing and I know he has a good setup if you’re interested.

"95" had a yellow rear spring as stated above, they also had three factory recalls too. #1 was the front forks having a crack in the tube that required a magnaflux test to confirm if the fork or forks needed replacement. #2 excessive flashing in the cylinder that needed removal to prevent a motor meltdown. #3 something with the crankcase seal or crank its self, I cant remember. if I was sending out my suspension to someone it would be factory connection, pro circuit or David Schmidt at Schmidt Performance. here is my "95"

I have the Gold Valve in my 93 CR 125 shock -- it is extremely good. Not just by old bike standards either! If you are handy it's worth a look!

I believe the crank issue was the shell coming off of the crank weights but I’m not positive.

That's a nice clean bike...I don't remember the shock reservoirs being milled like that? If the shock was upgraded you can almost guarantee the forks were done also...I have bikes that I upgraded front ends onto, but lately I have just been upgrading the stock components to keep the bike more original....but If you can find a set of period correct applied clamps for that bike ....08 crf twin chamber front end bolts right up....

Stunning 95's gentlemen.

Incredible to find a 95 Tim in that condition. When I compare that to the 95 I purchased my work would have been so much easier. Hard to believe someone kept one in that condition. Quite a score.

When one upgrades to newer CRF forks do you need the newer front wheel also?

I've been wanting a 95 for many years. Yes a good one is hard to find. This one popped up when I was not looking at all.

Boom it's home and getting a good going over.

Suspension is king! So that is getting taken care of first.

I'm redoing all the linkage, wheel and steering bearings.

Not going to redo the paint on the frame for now.

The motor will get new piston and rings and a new clutch.

Other than that I'm going to ride it!

Get a complete front end off a later model crf...I have an 08 crf450 complete front end, wheel to front brake assy. Easier for conversion, won't have to worry about bearing/axle/spacer issues, and you can still buy oversized rotors for the later crfs. The master cylinder is better. The only thing you will have to do is figure out your triple clamps for bearing & frame stops. you will also have your complete original front end if you wanted to put it back to original.

Ok - got a wheel assembly on the way also a front brake assembly. Forks still looking.....lots on Ebay so I'm "Watching"

I bit confused on what triple tree bolts up to make this all work.....thanks

I have a set of almost new 08 crf 450 forks I might be willing to sell.
