Started the restoration on my 1995 CR250. I’ve had it for about a year. Previous owner said it had been completely redone. You’ll see what that meant. Wish I had a pic from before I started taking decals off. It looked like someone was making it hideous on purpose. I know the finished product won’t hold a candle to some on here, but it will be slow going back together as it was a mess coming apart. Overspray everywhere. About half the hardware was wrong. All the usual stuff.

Best before pic that I have. It was bad. Good news is that it ran like a raped ape. Crazy fast. Photo

Custom red paint on pipe, enduro rear tire, custom carb vent hoses, and white overspray all over, including the engine. sick This bike featured it all. Photo

Bottom of frame actually appears in good shape. Note the ghosted in Honda wing under the fuel tank. Gorgeous. Photo

Any advice on this PC pipe? Any good? It has a new PC 304 silencer to match. Photo

The forks have Showa decals. Didn’t the 95 CR250 have Kayaba suspension? How do I verify what these are? Photo

Nice find. Hang on to the pipe, kinda rare find these days and one that everyone seems to want. I let one go a few years ago and now that I have another '95, I wish I had it back. I bought this '95 a couple of years ago with a few mods....... '04 CRF forks and rear shock, APPLIED triples, larger brake rotors. There's quite a few build on this site in regards to the 'mid '90s CR's.Photo

95 and 96 came with KYB, and those appear to be the stock ones. The KYBs are easily seen by that tall bell at the bottom of the upper tubes.

Man what is it with folks and rattle can paint jobs. Looks like your bike saw it’s time at the receiving end of a krylon can.
Pro Circuit pipe is a plus (after you take some paint stripper to it! YUCK!!!)
Nice bike none the less, can’t wait to see it finished.

Frame got powder coated, but I wasn’t happy about a couple things on it. Then when my two year old accidentally knocked it off the bench that made the decision easy. It’s back for new powder again. Hardware is ready for a clean start when the frame is ready. Photo

Great job on cleaning up your hardware. That’s a no joke amount of work. Are you going to have it treated or just re-install?
Looks like you have the stock KYB forks. I recognize the the bulbous area where the seals go.
The bottom of your frame looked similar to mine with the crushed tubes. I used epoxy to fill. I have no idea if this will just vibrate off. I’m running a skid plate to protect that area.
My bike was more a reflection of the bare minimum in care. Fortunately no seized on bolts and the air box boot was pretty clean. Yours looks pretty good for the age so your fortunate.

These mid 90 steel framed just look fantastic after done. You appear to be well on that path.

Too bad Evo Mx no longer can sell graphic kits for Honda’s.

I look forward to seeing more of your rebuild.

Did you blast the hardware? Or wire wheel? Keep the PC pipe, they look very nice when cleaned up and the welds blued again. My 95 cr250 also has a PC pipe. Can't wait to see it finished. Cheers

Yup, an original 86 TRX250R. Thanks for the kind words. I’m waiting on the frame from powder, then it’s assembly time.

Are you done with the build? Any complete pictures? Other issues you ran in to? Just picked up a 1995 this week that I started on.

Sorry, but it has not progressed one bit. It’s not going anywhere, just can’t continue as soon as I’d like. Hopefully soon.
