I know that 1992 may not be "old school" enough for some people, but it sure is for me! In 2002, i was 13, and I bought this bike with money I saved from mowing lawns all summer. It was my first "real" mx bike. I rode it every weekend, and loved every minute of it (even though i had something new to fix every time I took her out). Anyways it has been sitting for a LONG time now, and is in really rough shape. I want to restore it and ride trails with it every now and then. The bike brings back good memories.

On to my question... Does this bike hold ANY significance in history? Any titles? Just my curiosity. I don't care much either way. Thanks guys

It has the "desert storm" graphics if my memory is correct...I think that is about it.

Have at 'er man. I'm riding a 93 CR250 and it's my favourite bike. Age has nothing to do with it. If you like, ride it! I'm amazed how many guys from tha era who rode come up and say how cool it is. Had one, wished they never got rid of it, or just like the look of it.
I've got the entire front end off an 07 RM450 on it though. I'd reccomend you try and find a blown up 4-stroke (THAT shouldn't be a problem) and put the forks on your 92. Preferably a Zook, if they had very aggressive geometry back in the day. They certainly do now! Only downside is the suspension in those days. Once you have ridden the new stuff, the old stuff will leave you shakin' your head. " How did I ride that in 92?"

Brian Swink won the 1992 125 east supercross championship on an RM125. The Suzukis from that year are also remembered for having very over-the-top early '90s styling.

Brings back some memories for sure. I bought a used 92 RM 125 back in 94 after not riding for some years. I raced it 6 or 7 times that summer and had a blast. I replaced the seat cover with a blue one that said Suzuki in white letters on it though, lol.

The '92 RM 125 is special to me 'cause it was my first big bike. At the end of '92 I got a new '93 RM 80....rode it until June '93 and had grew too much to stay on 80's. My dad got me a used '92 RM 125 that had motor work and a DG pipe/silencer/bars/skidplate. I put yellow rear fender and sidepanels on it...and a solid purple Non Slip seat cover. I remember it worked really well...it was plenty fast and easy to ride...ok suspension and brakes.

I ended up having a '93 RM 125 and 250 later and they looked a lot cleaner and the 125 ran about the same....but I thought the skinnier '92 layout felt better. The '93-95 RM's were really wide and my boot would catch under the huge radiator shroud.

This is almost exactly like mine! Same plastic colors and seat with the tear and everything. Mine's in a lot worse shape, though. I also found a crack in the crank case by the drain bolt (must've over-tightened it). Completely stripped her down to the frame. Plan on polishing her up nice and maybe painting the frame. I'm also contemplating the Eric Gorr 144 kit.

So you've stripped it down to a bare frame and you plan on 'maybe' painting the frame? Maybe???

Don't think about it just do it. You will kick yourself if you don't. Then throw a set of fresh plastics and decals on it. You'll be smilin' when your done Cool

Lol well I'm a college kid on an extremely tight budget so I have to pick either looks or performance, unless I spend a few months on it. Which may be what I do since riding season is over for now! Smile
