1990 CR125 , Need Suspension Help.

I need to try to update the suspension on my restored
1990 Cr125, to something alittle more modern.

Does anyone know if I can use a set of forks and triple clamps up to 1997
to replace my stock pogo sticks ?

Thank you in advance .

I just picked up a 1990 CR 125 that I am going to restore and ride. I recently found an article saying how terrible the suspension was for that year. Did you ever get anything figured out on yours?

Hi,
Ive just restored this 1990 CR 125,
And am also on my second one!

The one in pic has Pro-Flex rear shock
46.5 cm eye to eye, (46cm standard)
And later 98 WP front end originally
From a KX -250 98,

The bike sits higher and is actually just like a new bike in height due to the high seat foam also fitted.

The second 1990 I am building now
I am going to run

1989 conventional CR-125 forks that are
Modified by Pro-Flex, and said to be one of
The best options in the day.

Along with a pro-flex rear shock
46cm eye to eye (original size)
So second bike will sit lower!

Once both bikes are ready in a couple of weeks I can update the post

Bike in pic rides mint!

Lower clamp bearing is bigger in 1990
But you can put the 1990 lower bearing on to 1989 clamps

If you go newer then you will have to play with bearings etc,
But you can get nearly all front ends to fit,
As shown by my bike having a complete
98KX front in it

having had these If you want to get by with them change fluid, clean everything get springs for your weight, cut down preload collars to say 10mm preload, fluid maybe slightly higher wt say 7.5 ride it, not anywhere as bad as claimed, like a new bike no, but rideable..then look for a something better
