Where do y’all get your top end kits? I’m not a fan of wiseco but that’s looking like the only option

ProX makes a stock style piston for it and this is the part number:
01.1208.A2 (ProX piston kit CR125 ‘88-91).
The top end gasket set is made by a few manufactures but here is the Athena gasket number:
P400210600125
You can search the web for those numbers but I’m sure a dealer can order them for you. Hope this helps.

I’ve never used any of Wiseco’s products besides their pistons/piston kits, but I’ve always had great luck with them in my CR125. Ran much longer than recommend service intervals with good oil, and never an issue. What bad experiences did you have with them? I did hear their cranks kind of suck.

I have heard that the wiseco pistons heat up faster then stock pistons and can cause a piston to seize. I always warm my bikes up properly and so has my dad.(when I was younger). I put a brand new wiseco in and it blew up on the way to the line. I broke it in and everything.

Could have been faulty from the factory but ever since then I have never trusted them.

Yeah, it sounds like something was off, a clearance not correct, etc. They are a forged piston, definitely do need to let it warm up, but you shouldn’t have had that problem.
