@wpark89- do you have a scan/ link for the test? What were they meant to be like compared to the Japanese bikes of that time?
That pipe and all the bike looks great. Remember a friend had an 85 250cc, think it was blue, he did quite good on it in expert class, seem to remember.
Loving these rare and unusual bikes that appear!
I really don't get why so many people sticker up things as something they are not.
The Maico forks were fine units in and of themselves. I've still got a set of Fox 44s, and they weren't any better than the Maico forks, believe me. When I put them back to use, I'll be fitting them out with some externally adjustable emulators, or, better still, whole, modern cartridges. The bottom 'cap' set up lends itself to easy modifications.
I'm still trying to track down my '89 320, and a 89 500 Air-cooled brought in that year. Two bikes I wish I had in my paws, now. I did a Decomp. set up for a mates 87 CR500 earlier this year, and he gave me his copy of ADB that had the test on my 320 in it. I'm indebted to him for that, as I could not find my copy for the life of me.
