I bought this bike last January, over all it was all there. I cleaned it up and did few hot laps with it in the open field. Then it sat for awhile.
In October I went to MMX track with my son and friends, it happened to be a vintage day. I did three laps and it quit. Went from wide open to nothing. It did not seize, it still turned over. I just parked it and rode a different bike for the day.
I found the rod bearing had disappeared, but other wise no damage. I decided to get a new crank, replace all the bearings and paint the motor. This is why I am posting.
I decided to get a Cerakote coating. I just got it back and started the rebuild and I am very happy. It is a thin coating and very strong. Got the lower end assembled and no scratches or knicks. I usually seem to knick or scratch things. Can’t wait to see how it holds up to the elements.

The Cerakote finish is not as shiny as the frame or original motor paint but looks good. Once I give it a good shake down, I will paint the frame and swing arm.
Work in progress!
