Picked up a very nice Mugen 125 last year out of Texas and decided to redo it. Just thought I’d show some pictures of the process.
As it arrived. Solid bike. Good motor. Strong acceleration.
Tore it down and stripped the paint of the engine. Sprayed with Tahitian Red and three coats of matt clear.
Cleaned up a bunch of parts. Sent the triples off with a set of a Fox Factory Forx triples to be made ready for this build.
Started assembly, slowly but surely. This will be a fun rider. Anyone have a line on a blue seat cover where I can get a Mugen logo printed on the side?
I’ll post pics as things evolve. Thanks for looking!

I would suggest contacting Mr. Newmann.
I know he has one of Johnny O's old Mugen's & he should be able to get any info you need.
The Shop
In regards to your seat query with the logo.
Go to your local decal shop and get a rub on transfer of the logo printed. Go buy some spray paint for vinyl and bingo there’s how you do seat graphics.
Now obviously the part of the logo needs to be cutout is the area where the paint will go.
I did it on my 95 CR250 and it lasted all year.
This is the mock up from today's shop time. Joe did the 79 fuel tank, moving and welding the mounting tabs, painting it to match my plastics perfectly, and cleared over the Mugen logos so they stay pristine. Obviously, I need the blue seat cover.
