Have a buddy looking at 78 RM 400, looks like it's in good condition.
I have no knowledge if this was a decent bike and would it be good for some Vintage racing.

Could be mistaken, but wasn't the '78 a 370? The '79's being a 400?
Just curious, the collective will know.

Yes, very good bike. 78 was the first 400 and the same aluminum swingarm as the 250 C2 and 125. One thing to watch out for is a worn swingarm pivot, especially on the countershaft side
FYI Mr Swine, 76&77 were 370’s.

Yes. I'd love to have one. Not positive , I may have read some having issues getting a rod and bearings when the time comes. May be later 400 Suzukis

I had one. Best open bike at the time. I upgraded to an aluminum swing arm, FOX shocks and Simmons forks.

<------ That bike I'm on in the thumbnail is a 1978 RM400.
