There is a Maico group on Facebook, and it’s called the Maico Square and Oval barrel group. Very helpful bunch of guys and they will point you in the right direction.

I had a 67 360GS back in 1977 When I was 12 years old. Loved that bike, even though my friends clowned me all the time about it. Bought it for $200 and sold it for $200 - didn’t know any better back then.

Sold it in the summer of 1979 to buy a 1978 Honda CR 250. To me it was the best looking bike next to a 79 Maico. And, by that time starting a bike with my left foot was natural and starting my bike with my right foot. And as much as I enjoyed the Honda it was that 67 Maico that left a long lasting impression on me. Obviously.

I have a 69 360MC, a 71 400GS, and a 78 & 79 400 GS. Have owned about 5-6 more in addition to these 4. Fav vintage bikes of all time. Wish I would’ve kept all of them.

G11, wish you the best on your build and I hope you will post some pics after you’ve completed it!
