Picked this 01 YZ125 up for $100 with a locked up motor. Going to do a black frame and a retro Hurricane yellow kit and a bunch of carbon fiber. I will add pics as I do it and I am building it for the hell of it and might not even ride it. It is in pretty good shape as I have been tearing it down and wont cost near as much as I though to get running.

I could get it running for $150 in parts but being the kind of guy who has more money than common sense I am building a retro Black and yellow YZ that will cost twice of what it will be worth but at least I am finding lots of trick parts for cheap on Ebay. Doing it more for personal pleasure and I only paid $100 for the bike so its not to bad. Blush

Sweet Project!

I always wanted to build a 96+ YZ125. I ended up with a newer aluminum framed YZ125 project. I had bought a set of Pro Circuit Clamps when I had the chance as you don't see them very often. I'll sell them if you are interested. They are in good shape other than the anodizing is a little faded. You could always remove the anodizing and go with a brushed aluminum look or re anodize them whatever color you like.

Those sub tanks look so bad ass. It's too bad you can't appreciate them as much when when they are hidden behind the number plate. You need a clear front number plate!

Bump, Have you made any progress? I still have a clear vented front number plate that you can have cheap if you want it, so you can show off those sub tanks....

Take a pic of the number plate . Haven't gotten much done the last month or so, should hit it hard soon.

Finally getting back to the YZ, painting the frame black and putting on my vintage one industries graphics.

The guy who created that design was "Rollin" Molly Sanders. He also came up with Kawasaki green and the Lexus 'L' logo.
