Try to find a nicer helmet on closeout online or better yet, go to your nearest dealer and see if you can try on some helmets. It should be snug, but not so tight your head feels like it’ll pop. As far as brand names, I’d wager that all the lower end FLY, Bell, Thor, etc. helmets are close to the same in terms of safety. Whatever you do, don’t buy the cheapest no name helmet you can find. Your noggin is worth more than $50.
