Bought an 18 Beta 430 in April 22 and loving it! All stock with minor emissions delete stuff. Want to get it resprung for my weight and riding eventually but haven't really felt the need with the trails in Santa Barbara. I have pretty must lost my motivation to drive 2 hours to the track when I can rip out of my garage at sea level and be at 4200' in 45 minutes.

I've got no pictures...but I'm on a 2021 YZ450FX...racing my local off-road series (with an occasional National Hare and Hound when they come to town if my schedule works out)...my local series is a mix of enduro, hare and hound, hare scramble, and GP races...with everything from fast wide open desert, to single track in the pines, to motocross tracks, slick rock to sand with everything in between. The 450FX is a great "do everything bike"...

I run revalved suspension (MotoXperts, is a local shop that did the work this time). I was on a 19YX450FX before this one, and I raced stock suspension...but they did something different with the suspension and I couldn't figure out how to make it work right, so I gave up and let a shop work on it...it's awesome now! great on the small chop, but also decent bottoming resistance for the high speed G-outs, and the moto track.

IMS 2.8 gallon tank. (I have a love/hate relationship with this bike in regards the fuel tank...I love that I can get up to 2.8 gallons without changing the feel of the bike at all...but I hate that I can't get more than 2.8 gallons without DRASTICALLY changing the feel of the bike, by replacing the shrouds with fuel tank). Acerbis tanks look like garbage...

Acerbis hand guards and skid plate.

Stock Bars (until I crash and bend them...then I'll put on some renthal twin walls)

Bullet Proof Designs radiator guards.

TM Designworks chain guide (since Yamaha's stock guides bend and break off if they get breathed on) and chain slider.

FMF sparky and silencer (stock header)

Michelin Bibs

Dunlop AT81's front and rear are my go-to tires...people complain about traction on these tires, but I've never been able to tell the difference, so I run these because they last a long time.

Otherwise all stock.

Would you mind throwing up a picture of your bike? I picked up a 23 YZ450FX and I’m on the fence about getting the IMS Tank. I have a dry break lying around but I guess you have to cut the seat to make everything fit right?

2015 200 xcw and a 2013 85 for the wife. Both setup for woods and a little hard enduro

Wife has a few more goodies than me. Bike has a 105 kit with a rekluse and flywheel weight, also has a too tall kit. Super fun little bike and great woods bike for her.

Race hare scrambles in Texas. I took a bike that was already a trail/race bike and paid to get the suspension tuned.  Then I put on some acerbis wraparounds and was ready to race! 😀4BC9E808-538F-4A3F-AB14-58B47F5384A4.jpeg?VersionId= ItnlhA4 E.E

97 Xr400 with a 440 kit, and BSR42 carb, revalved suspension by the previous owner. More than enough power and it’s smooth and linear. Some days I have a crisis and want to sell it and get a yz250fx, but this XR never lets me down.

How are you liking the levers?

I put a set on my 23 KX last month (I've had several on KTMs before and love them) and the fit was way off. The clutch lever hit the master cylinder and the clutch wouldn't fully engage. I didn't notice at first install, went for a ride and smoked the clutch a bit.

The front brake wasn't much better. Starting to think I got the wrong levers or something 🤔

Same deal. The fit was horrible. I had to touch the mounting ears on the masters with a file just to get the pivot bolts through. I like them but the quality is nothing like the ARCs I had on my previous bikes.

Appreciate the response, that's good to know I'm not the only one.

Just picked this beast up last summer. 2013 WR450 got it because of the KYB SSS suspension and it’s got a Cali plate with EFI. I’ve tried the newer KTM and Huskies but they didn’t feel that much better than my old 07 ktm. This thing the suspension is smooth and with the competition ECU and FMF pipe it rips. Ride track and trail with the same bike and this works out great! Just got done with a 450 mile off road trip and it was blast! C221BEF2-2D8E-4AC9-9F16-359C373A6BD6

If you change the muffler and put a vortex on it, you’ll be amazed at what that bike is capable of…. It is corked up so much, it’s literally suffocating

2021 CRF250RX - I got this thing really cheap with maybe an hour on it. The rear tire still had all the little things on them.

Suspension feels pretty darn good stock with just some minor adjustments. I do use wrap around handguards for big trips but otherwise just Cycra Rebounds. Yoshimura exhaust for the spark arrestor. I tried to get an FMF but not available during Covid. It does have ARC levers and some sharp pegs that I got from a member here. I fried the oem clutch pretty quickly and got a Rekluse Clutch Pack and that's been great so far. I also stupidly ordered the 450 skid plate but tbh i don't feel like spending the extra money to get a new one. It fits pretty well for the most part and certainly protects everything way better than the oem skid plate.

I think I have about 55hrs on it.

I'm running my 2011 klx450.. still fresh and reliable, I have had much faster and better handling bikes, but with a slight gearing change she keeps up with the cool kids and doesn't cost the world to own and maintain!

For the guys who are running moto and offroad, is doing both on the same bike pretty feasible? I know it wont be perfect for both but if Im set up for offroad it wont be totally unridable for moto will it? Never done any off road but moving to upstate SC in a few months and theres lots of moto tracks for practice days but racing wise im in a really good spot for sprint enduros, hare scrambles and gncc.

It depends on your type of offroad.

Personally the trails I ride and race on are typical PNW and Interior BC slow speed tech.

Suspension that works well in the bush ends up being way to soft for moto.

I would need 2 sets of suspension to make it work.

A moto setting works well for faster paced west coast off road conditions, especially in sandy and whooped out areas.

Once you add in rocks, square edge and roots, a moto setting will deflect and be generally very uncomfortable. A more compliant setting is desired for these conditions, but can feel wallowy and bottom out a lot on a moto track.

2023 YZ450FX. It’s one of the best bikes I’ve owned. Great high speed stability, but still turns decent and has a good chassis. The bike really doesn’t need much to be really good, but I can’t resist testing different variations of parts and settings. Really happy with the motor, especially with the JL Smooth map and 14/52 gearing. First and second gear were useless with stock gearing, but 14/52 really spread everything out, which sounds counter intuitive to an already wide ratio gearbox, but it works well and the motor has plenty of power to pull a tall 4th and 5th, even on a smooth map.

Currently experimenting with Xtrig ROCS clamps and tires. The clamps definitely add some rigidity not present in the stock clamps. Not sure how I feel about it yet.

Had the stock MX33s on for a while. Really didn’t like the rear much for the AZ desert conditions. It spins a lot in the loose intermediate terrain here and the braking performance as poor. Unless it was monsoon season or I was in a sand wash, it’s performance for our conditions was mediocre. The MX53 rear is much better out here imo. The MX33 front was fine for the first probably 8 hours but started feeling really unstable the last four hours, and the tire would give up lean angle traction abruptly and without warning. That tire really seems to not like flat turns either. The carcass was so soft when I pulled it off. Felt like I could twist it into a pretzel. I put on an MX53 front last night to try, as I have heard good things. I may revisit the AT81 rear and see how it goes. The MX53 rear I have on now isn’t wearing as long as I’d like.

Picked up a hold over 450 XC for what most people wanted for their 21’s, threw some pegs on it cause for whatever reason I have a hard time with the stock Austrian foot pegs. Took the kickstand off cause race bikes don’t have kickstands 😂. That’s what I have planned for now, I’m racing it next weekend so I’m sure I will find some more things I’d like to do.
