I've got 230 hours on my 2017 model, I can honestly say this is the most well rounded dirtbike I have ever owned. The suspension from the factory is a touch soft for MX but it can be done, I do it al the time.
Yes. I've had an 09, 14 and now an 18. I've tried four strokes and 300's in between but keep coming back. For me, it's the best do-everything bike. In the last three months I've done a Big 6 GP, National Hare and Hound, AMRA enduro and hare scramble all with a few clicker changes. No MX races, but plenty of track practices where the bike works great.
Do you guys find that the 250 needs to be ridden aggressively in the woods...or is there some "lugability"
Yes very well. It might not have as much pull as its 300 counter part but a little clutch feathering will get the job done. I have yet to ever find myself in the woods on this bike wishing I had more power or torque.
I had a 2012, got a chance to ride the 2017 when it first came out and bought one that week. IMO the new KTM frame and forks make the old chassis obsolete my a far far margin. So long story short 2017 or newer.
i like hearing cool things like this... what makes the 2011 "a unicorn" in your books? any cool things?
