Is anyone here headed to the first round? It doesn't seem like much of a sprint enduro but, at least it is a start.

Why would you say its not much of a Sprint Enduro? The course is laid out but nobody has even raced it !

Well, I say it because of what they have posted as mileage. The usual sprint enduros (going off the most successful series being Full Gas) run 6x(6-10) minute tests. The idea being a sprint race where you can go full out the entire test. The flier for this race has 8 tests at 64 miles. Assuming the normal 24 mph for enduros, there will be 8x20 minute special tests. That doesn't really seem like a "sprint" enduro. After doing the Sprint Hero race at Glen Helen last year (about 50 minutes of total racing tie), I am mentally preparing myself to be completely wasted after this race.

I was planning on heading out for the first one. Seems like a lot of mileage though. Will be a bummer if so. I started riding more worcs stuff just because it was getting too tough to train for longer events. Just not enough time in the day to dedicate training for endurance races anymore. Either way excited about something new.

Unfortunately I won't be there but I'm sure I'll be ready to roll as soon as I see someone's GoPro footage from Round 1

Rider instructions came out and now we are at 6 x 5 mile loops. That seems a lot closer to a normal sprint enduro.

If I'm reading correctly, for Intermediate class I'll be 6 x AB loop and 5 x CD loop

Never mind. My reading comprehension has gotten worse one Silver Bullet at a time. 6 tests on the AB loop.

It is still going to be a lot of racing but that is much much better. That would be 6 x 12-1/2 minute motos if you hold 24mph. That is comparable o the Sprint Hero Enduro that I did last year and I got my monies worth.

The flyer states green/red sticker needed. Huh? I’m from Az. I have our version of OHV plate/sticker. Is that your guys’ version of the same?

For people from other states, CA offers out of state offroad stickers to use on public lands in combo with a spark arrestor. For us CA residents, the state gives green (think more enviro friendly bikes like WR250's) and red (think just about everything else... moto, XC etc bikes) There are difference between those two in when/where you can ride on public lands. I am not really sure how you get an out of state sticker but you should call/email someone from the Hilltoppers or maybe the D37 enduro steward. They can send you in the right direction.

All that being said, I am confused as to why this is required for this race. My understanding is that this is all private land. I don't remember needing either when I did their GP at the same location.

edit...take a look at this

Yes, I got a about a 4-inch rock dent in my 250sx pipe and that hasn't happened to this old vet GP racer in quite a few seasons of racing.

I'm trying not to look at mine. I had to take some alternate lines to make some passes.

Check out Sarah Alvarado photo. She has a handful of shots on her Instagram and they are out of this world.

Thanks....will do. Let us know if you find any more photos. It seemed like there were a number of photographers on course. Then again, I wasn't looking too hard. I was mostly trying not to wad it up in the rocks.

Epic guys. Glad you went out and did it. Seems like the general consensus was that it was plenty of riding for each class but the short loops got a little redundant. I'm hoping to make the Glen Helen and the Anza round.

Something like 238 riders signed up and only one guy took a hit to the head and saw some stars. Hard to beat that. No ambulance drives and no helicopter rides

It would have been better if we did 3 laps on each of the two loops like in the Sprint Hero or Full Gas series instead of 6 laps on one. That being said, I don't think that the C and D riders would have liked the A-B loop as it was really rocky.

I don't really get the criticism of short loops. They are supposed to be short. It is a sprint enduro not a marathon enduro. In reality, you had 6 x12-16 minutes motos depending on your speed,in some tight rocky stuff. I was smoked by my last loop. Some guys just seem to want to turn it back into a 3 loop 120 mile time keeper.

Wish I could say that, as the Dad of a young Endurocross racer I’ve gotten really good at getting dents out. A couple pics from after the race (can’t even see all the dents) and after I fixed it.

Yep short loops are what it’s about. Would be nice to do at least two different loops, but you don’t want the A’s on the same loop as the C/D guys. As it was I saw a lot of guys being held up by slower riders on the A/B loop.

I like the format, just not sure the name Enduro really applies. Seems more like a timed Hare Scramble? ?.

I'm local to that race and I really regret not trying it out. It looked like a blast. And I'm surprised Trevor won, he did a lap then sort of hung out on the hill and looked like he was over it. Maybe a half hour later he went out and did work
