Some areas in CA you get no credit for putting extra into the grid.

Alot just disconnect the meter and say screw em.

you'll need a back up like batteries or a generator if you do that..over here the meter runs backwards..so you only get to trade for kilowatts

panels are great..low maintenance..last for 25 to 30 years

some homes have the hot water panels and the photo voltaic..

anyone here have PV panels?

with hi tech and gallium arsenide/germanium semiconductor fabrication the sky's the limit...get it? hehehe

There is new technology coming out soon . Paint on solar panels . The price looks real good too. If you have a metal roof you just paint on the panels and free electric. I am going to do some on my new building I am erecting. 24X36.

I want my home to be completely solar powered (with a generator back up) by the end of 2011.

I'm doing it all myself-and I'm very "new" at it-and so I'm starting small (freezer, water heater panels at the moment), and will keep adding (and learning) until I can completely disconnect the City power (that will be a HAPPY day)...Now if I just had a well on the property...

theres solar kits that you can buy..a whole PV panel for $100..but you do the soldering

A new roofing material will be available soon with the solar panel built right in. Already been developed.
