Woulda been funny if he shot a hole in his ass cheek as he was holstering it.

Dude was as confident as they come dancing till it got real.

So much fail.
1) off-duty at an alcohol establishment with a gun-bad idea unless not drinking
2) given his dance moves, likely drinking with said gun-bad idea
3) likely there to pick up tail-wth was he going to do with the gun if this was successful?
4) putting his finger in the trigger guard to pick it up-fail. Keep your booger hook off the bang switch until ready to shoot.

On the upside for the guy that got hit, he will probably never have to work again...

I am pretty sure that dropping your gun and shooting somebody is up there on the list of party fouls.

Yeah, we got this gun thing under control.

Nothing we can do about it.

Yeah let's put teachers with zero gun experience in classrooms to protect our children. What could go wrong? This guy was an FBI agent.

This weekend in SD, cops were after what they thought was lady with a gun at the big marathon run. Cop accidentally shot himself in the leg. Think he'll ever live that down?

It also appears that these shooters shoot until their heart's content when there aren't any bullets flying back at them.

In this case I think you’re both right. Knowing some of the teachers I had and the lack of mental stability they possessed makes me adamant that teachers shouldn’t have them. However, my mom is a teacher and it scares the hell out of me thinking she has no means to defend herself or her kids. Armed guards are all I can suggest, but we’re still just sidestepping the real problem that is forcing us to turn schools into prisons.

Yeah. I certainly agree with you. It’s not a good scenario to think about but 0 resistance isn’t the answer. I wouldn’t require teachers to arm themselves. It should be optional and carry some structured training. There are quite a few logistics to work though but in the end, if I’m in a building where people are getting mowed down, I wouldn’t mind if someone started lobbing a few back.

This incident has nothing to do with gun laws and everything to do with that particular cop being a horses ass.

Lol. FBI agents probably get 2 times a year to qualify on a range with shit weapons...if they’re lucky.

Love how the public thinks cops and fbi...hell most soldiers are these almighty weapon specialists.

News flash......they’re not.

Tell that to the guy who ended up with a stray bullet in his calf.

This is a highly trained individual, and we still have random people getting shot.

We love our guns, and are willing to accept random people getting shot, and every other homicide by gun death that we have. We chose this course.

In the wise words of Johnny Cash:

"Leave your guns at home, Bill. Don't take your guns to town."

But, like with the big trucks, we have a huge amount of the population that needs to compensate.

If the other guy had a gun....

Serious question time: If mixing alcohol with guns is bad (as seen in the vid), but a gun is needed for self protection, do you not drink ever? Or not always carry a gun?

If there was a chance he was going to be drinking, he should not have had the gun.

So I've been advocating to harden the schools. And a lot of people complain "oh boohoo now the schools will feel like prisons".

That is a bullshit excuse.

I go to work, armed guards.
I go to bank, armed guards.
I go to courthouse, metal detector and armed guards.
I go to ballpark, armed guards.
I go to coliseum, metal detector and armed guards.
I go to casino, armed guards.
I go to airport, metal detectors and armed guards.
I go to Disney, metal detectors and armed guards.
I go to Church, armed guards.

How many of those places feel like prisons?

I just got back from Disney World. Metal detectors, armed guards, and every bag searched. Including purses, strollers, fannie packs, etc.

Didn't feel like a prison at all.

So hardening the schools by having a single point of entry, armed guards, and metal detectors will in no way make it feel like a prison. And those three things in place would have likely prevented every school shooting in the last 25 years.

Not directing that specifically at you, just tired of hearing that securing the schools will make it feel like prison. That's ridiculous but commonly used as an argument against securing our schools.

Well guns reportedly have about 1-3 million defense uses annually (CDC reports) and the range of the most left bias studies to the most right bias studies show a range of 80,000 to 3 million lives saved/crimes stopped a year. It's estimated almost 200,000 women use a firearm in defense against sexual and domestic abuse each year. Some studies show that a crime is often stopped quicker by a CCW permit holder than a cop, as well as better probability that a gun is used justifiably more by the CCW permit holder than a cop.

We are also probably the least favorite land to invade not only because of our military, but because of highly well armed private militia.

Oh... and I guess our government hasn't revoked our natural born rights tyrannically, which I'm guessing would be why they hate an armed public (well one party does anyways).

I guess you can make up your mind if these are good or bad things. I for one would hate to tell a tiny defenseless woman she can't properly protect herself with a CCW permit when she has to walk to her car late after work in a dark parking garage.

Oh no it’s not an armed society. It’s those oceans and uninterrupted borders on the north and south.

Invade my country and I’m going to the borders land and ocean. Whereever they’re landing to cut them down.

Well let's forget about murdered children we have more things to think about like tiny defenseless women. Give me a break.
