I'm leaving thursday to visit Yosemite for the 3rd time in 15 months... this time I'll be hiking up to the top of half dome. Wish me luck! Going to be quite the adventure...
picture is of my latest visit to the park this April on the Panorama trail... Half Dome is that big bastard over my right shoulder

I'm heading up to the cascades tomorrow for a little day hike. Work has been a bear keeping me pinned down and I'm FINALLY able to sneek away for a day. It will be nice to clear my head and see some different scenery.
He was the 1st paraplegic to pull off such a feat. He is a BAAAD dude! We use to play wheelchair tennis together..and party, and he knew how to do both really well!
Mark Wellman, first paraplegic to climb Half Dome, Yosemite
On September 4, 1991, Mark Wellman and Mike Corbett set out to conquer Yosemite's other big wall, Half Dome. Thirteen days later they reached the top of the 2,200 foot vertical Tis-Sa-Ack route on Half Dome.

Sometime, if you haven't been up there, instead of taking the turn off to Half Dome continue up the Merced River. The river and views up there are amazing.
We stayed at Camp Curry, a few years ago. I don't think I would again.
He has a way lower injury than me, like waist down, he could lean fwd and grab his own ankles and was so strong he could hold himself up and do this trippy crab like walk, just CRAZY upper body strength.
Do any of you recall hearing his story? it made national news for many years. He now does motivational speaking appearances and has wrote a book (maybe more) Really cool guy, the stories he told about his climb was intense!!

Me on the cables
...so I met a fellow chiver from Salt Lake City on top of Half Dome, and he goes "Sweet! I almost wore my Bill Murray shirt, here, take a drink of my Jack Daniels, it'll be awesome!" and it was
