No doubt!

Same area affected again in a short timespan. Watch them fuel prices.

Kind of makes you wonder, or are the locators/operators really that bad at what they do?

Last Thursdays job.
High voltage electric cable and water line 1 foot below the gas line we replaced.

Nerve wracking to say the least.

It says gasoline in the pipeline, wouldn't that be crude or natural gas? I always thought refined hydrocarbons only went OTR.

I have a friend who marks cable lines and recently marked one wrong and they hit a gas line. Bunch of fire trucks, evacuated an entire apartment complex. Very bad day at the office.

From the refinery to the tank farm they use pipelines. Delivery is done with a tanker truck to the filling stations. At 9000 gallons per load and 7MPG it would cost a lot more at the pump since the average gas station uses 10000 gallon tanks. It would take 4 tankers to fill 1 filling station. Hauling fuel 1000 miles for 1 station is cost prohibitive.
