My division of GE builds large industrial engines (500 -5000hp) used in oil & gas and power gen applications. In the natural gas application they suck gas out of the ground, boost it down the pipeline and into your house or storage. I work in the product support group.

Interesting story- two of our engines driving generators were in the basement of the World Trade Center. They provided emergency backup power. The engines were running during the collapse of the towers and were providing emergency lighting in the stairways. One engine survived and was brought back to our factory and is on display..I walk past it every day.. On more than a few occasions I have seen people break down emotionally when they see the engine.

Here it is arriving at work. Shortly after it was clear coated.

It seems like that picture does the job just fine. What do they need you for?

I kid though, nice place. A couple of rhythm sections down the fairways would really tie it all together though.

I am definitely a lucky guy to have landed in a place like this that does essentially sell itself. It makes my job a whole lot easier than being at a location without these amazing aesthetics.

Awe, man. Now THAT'S an awesome job. How did you get into that position?
the line was long and distinguished who's rear end I had to kiss lol...

in all seriousness been working in the auto racing world for ages as a driver coach when I wasn't racing. The opportunity came up 6 years ago and I jumped on it. Haven't looked back.

I work for a company called Alcon in the UK. Although I'm sure there is also a US branch of this company. We make brake discs/calipers that are used the world round. Teams in nascar, Dakar, le mans, world rally etc use our products. Best job I've ever had. It really means something making a part that's going out to the US/rest of the world that is going to make a difference in a world wide championship. Been an engineer all my life and this is what I love.
Phill Stubbs is the President of Alcon North America. I'll see him next week at Daytona for the Rolex 24 I'm sure. Great stuff you guys produce.

Ive traded my old job as a project manager in general construction for a role as Head project manager in road construction. And i've been contacted by a car company today to possibly be the Head Project manager for all there new shops they will start building Worldwide or renovate old existing shops to newer and better standards.

Although that job sounds super interesting it depends if they will pay enough and if they are paying the relocation and school for the kids.

Not as cool? You're joking right I've never seen a kid that wanted to come with me for a day to work but i have known several that wanted to ride in the cop car and play with the siren and stuff like that Kids look up to you guys and although i'm not a huge fan of cops ( when i'm speeding ) i do appreciate your service and that of other officers.

I build launch pads for rockets. Specifically I'm a toolmaker/metrology tech/field machinist for SpaceX ground support equipment launch group. Currently working on the rebuild of 39A which is the historic NASA pad most of the Apollo and shuttle missions launched from.

Poolio is that you?

As long as you own the copyright to your logo you'll be good to go on Vital.
That is of course unless RandyS finds out about it. Then you're screwed.

I'm a Public Affairs Specialist with Navy Morale Welfare and Recreation in Yokosuka, Japan. My job is basically a cross of PR, marketing, photography, writing and editing. All-in-all, it's pretty fun, but I'm looking to get back to the states and move on to something else.

Reading the Moto page, I have to say that I'm surprised there aren't more doctors and TV production folks on this site, given all the advice being thrown out in those two fields lately.

I own a car wash, even though I dont own it.
When we are slow, I cant seem to make up my mind between 2 options that help pass the time. Its a constant battle, but it doesnt really matter.
