Nothing is open

Rode down thru town and no quick Mart open,no walmart, nothing.

Was hoping to get a lack of Marlboro red but kinda glad. Would hated to see some poor bastard work in on Xmas for minimum.

Probably not the case in the population concentration centers though.

Anyone remember the blue law days?

I remember the blue law days. Much better, simpler time. Just so you remembered to get gas on Sat.

Think in the 13 years I worked at LAS I had Christmas off maybe twice. It sucked. Good to be retired as this year I wouldn't even be getting paid.

We rode by your house Sunday night during a 11hr drive to Dyer, TN from Charleston, SC. It’s a long haul with my recently replaced knee. Around 2am we stopped at a Pilot gas station near Cookeville. Paramedics were rolling someone out of the store while I hobbled in on crutches. Lots of respect for all the Public Safety and First Responders who have to work on the Holidays.

Yeah, I remember the blue laws back in Maryland in the 60s.
Here in Preston County WV they still prohibit alcohol sales from I think midnight Saturday, till 1 pm Sunday.

I was at er yesterday. Fealt horrible that they had to be there. It was packed. So much respect for them. I am ok. Caught something at Disney and fever and puking for a week and since I have been dealing with intestinal disease already they were worried I burst my intestines. Good times. Daughter ended up going to Georgia with her boyfriend so first one without her and never fealt worse in my life. Good times.

They always get the attention. But many others work nights/weekends/holidays providing services and products I guess are assumed to be not as honorable.

Nobody ever reached out and shook my hand thanking me for making a national commodity used for making wind towers, battleships, bridges, cars/trucks, tanks, ships, buildings, pipe lines, gas/oil tankers, heavy/farm equipment, rail cars, barges, nuclear power plants, cranes etc. Just saying. Wink

I remember Hillbilly, you're 100% right, nothing was open . My wife and I talk about that frequently.made the weekends feel slower and and more relaxing somehow. It will never go back to that unfortunately.

Georgie-- Congratulations on a great looking kid!!!, And nothing like a first Christmas !! Enjoy it !Goes waaaay too fast !! Seems like last week I was doing the overnight feeding on Christmas eve and then before you know it your daughter is turning 30 and getting you a bottle of wine from KT Winery signed by Eli for Christmas ,lol.
