I get the situation in the Everglades is pretty bad because of pythons, but no way in hell would I be doing what this trapper mike does.

When I was in Florida I saw a sign that said "be careful when approaching the wetlands, snakes and alligators are present" yet some maniacs stood right on the edge casually fishing. I kept my distance I'll tell you that..
Australia is another place with shit that wants to kill you
Here is a tip: gators generally dont bite under water so if you are swimming and a gator swims at you swim down and at an angle from gator but be ready to keep doing it because they are attracted to surface disturbances and will keep swimming to any action on the surface. Everyone knows the run in a zig zag pattern but gators will run fast and far to water when scarred but only lunge attack about 4 to six feet from water.
Also if a grown person gets killed by a constricting snake then that person is so weak they are going to die anyway. Dont believe that b.s. but the damage they do eating the native animals is very damaging.
We are major sponsors for the study and conservation of these animals and have won awards for our efforts so I do know some basic info about them.
Oh wait Florida is all full and scary Gators, snakes, lizards and sharks love the taste of thick northern blood so I would stay away. ???

If a gator chases me I'm going everywhere but deeper. Count me out.
Here are some we support and hope others will too,

Back in about '98, there was a Red Belly behind our computer desk. You could see the office (just a big open room) from upstairs and as I was walking to another part of the house I saw something out the corner of my eye. We called a heap of people and nobody wanted to help, so my dad rigged up something to catch it and put in the bush across the road. It wasn't big but, fack!
My mate was walking his dog the other week and saw a Tiger Snake.
No guiding for me anymore. I retired after 22 years. Boats have sat for awhile but want to get out again soon regularly for fun but needed a break. Just doing the rental property landlord thing mostly and empty nest life which is sad. Kids grow up too fast.
My friend FLmxer is correct in his assessment. Notice how his experience is similar to the bro from Australia. I think TV tends to hype everything and leave us with a picture that is not reality. Of course Florida and Australia have dangerous critters, but it's not like we have an alligator encounter on every sidewalk. Usually.
Pit Row
See this fucking thing they caught the other day in S-E Queensland? Fucking NOPE ROPE!
And there was this poor broad who had one in her baby daughter's nursery.
