Sinead O'Connor tearing up the Pope's picture on SNL didn't seem to have a real positive affect on her career.

ETA: You're right about Billy Squier, though. That song sunk his active* career like the Titanic.

*At one time, The Big Beat was the most sampled song in hip hop.

Eh, he went on to have a perfectly fine solo career. Not as good as his work with Van Halen, but anything would pale in comparison when next to VH's early albums. Plus Sammy Hagar kept them alive and made them some money after Diamond Dave left.

Jordan is part owner of Wizards, playing with them was an excellent investment.

I'm not sure that playing for them was a prerequisite for buying the team.

Me either, but by playing for them he got HUGE hype for his team, and pumped up the value of his investment.

As picky as JMG was about bikes (he wouldnt even ride HRCs new bikes and stayed on the '93 for three years in a row), I think it could be argued he might have done even worse going to any of those other color bikes. I mean, a flat tire is all that kept him from the title and that wasnt Suzuki's fault.

He would have won in 97 on the Suzuki if Lamson didn’t take him out a few times at the Coliseum and the crash in Phoenix where his bike ended up standing up upside down on the bars and seat. Just like how you do it with bicycles. Had the issue with the cut heal as well. Should have been 8 time champion.

Didn't he have ownership in the Wizards at some point? Or was he just working in the front office when he decided to play for them?

I can see what youre saying because Metallica was so commercially successful, but (in my opinion) Megadeth has always been superior and was pretty successful also.
