Isn't she great to watch? She's good at all disciplines. A threat at any time. I got into Alpine skiing back in 1976 with Franz Klammer's gold medal downhill run. Scrubbing off cambers doing doubles, big Air. Way cool. Michaela Shiffrin is a superb athlete.

You see her win her 1st superG a week ago?

She tossed it sideways to scrub speed in the fall away and the NBC commentator says " oh,she put on the brakes, she still getting used to the higher speeds of S G & DH "

It just lined her up perfect to carry the highest mph of the day and the win, lol.

To be on a level of seeing that line.when no one else did.

Just hope she doesn't do a "Marc gisin" and get dinged. Up.

Been to a few World Cup downhills at Lake Louise near me. Nothing like seeing it live although you only get a glimpse of the whole race other than what you're seeing on your phone.

I dig it. Who is the chick that got a gold medal in downhill that came from snowboarding last winter Olympics?

I was working in Whistler the year that Rob Boyd won the downhill in Whistler back in 1989. Holy crap did that town go off that night.

He was in Cici's in the town square enjoying himself pretty good celebrating his victory, when somebody loudly asked him from across the room, "Hey Rob, don't you have the SuperG tomorrow?" and he yelled back for all to hear, "who cares, I suck at SuperG" and the place went nuts!

I worked the main lift on the downhill run that year and skied it daily. Seeing the speed those guys hit it at and the distance they travel off the jumps was mind blowing. Especially considering that it's literally a sheet of ice when they're finished with their course prep.
