That was me also, summer of '77 was aluminum Banzai deck with California Slalom trucks and Pure Juice wheels and a Mongoose during the week and riding the MX400B on weekends at Rio or the old Conroe track. As for tunes in HS, Pioneer KP-8500 with TS-X9s in the back and TS-106s up front pushed by a Audiovox AMP600 EQ/booster. Alpine shit was for the rich kids.
BTW, nothing wrong with a strong 'Glide and slots, most guys in my area were using Cragar SSs w/ BF Goodrich shoes. Now if you really wanted to get noticed put a Harwood snorkel on, traction bars and some dual Walker Redline Z's out back.
