Don’t know much about them, I’ve gone through 3 of the best that Walmart has. Dicks sporting goods has GT’s for $450. All I want is Front disc brakes and suspension. Hard tail. Just hitting some hilly back roads and some mild trails for a little cross training.
You can get by with a cheap bike (sub $800 or so) for the type of riding you listed. But keep in mind if you get more serious into riding you're going to want to step up to something in the $1200+ range for the component/fork quality. And by serious I just mean hitting the single track trails 2-3 times a week.
