Vent Moment

Things could be worse, but damn I want to vent. Wife's suggestion I should with friends, but my friends are idiots outside of vital. This past weekend, smoking a brisket, I got into a yellow jacket nest which lit my legs up and had a reaction. New baby wont sleep which is affecting everything including work. Wife decided to purchase new curtains and pillows for like the 1000th time. No issue with the last other than damn make up your mind and quit storing shit if you're not going to use it.

Life is good and feel to vent away.

What exactly is a Brisket?

|

Wow! No wonder you never posted anything else about the brisket. Sorry, JRT.

It's like chest muscle on the cow. Tough as nails unless slow smoked with low heat for about 12 hours. Done right, brisket is delicious.

New baby won't sleep? Did you try using the vacuum cleaner ? We used it for probably the first 10 months . Worked liked a charm almost every time.

Smoke ring looks incredible! Mine was decent but nothing like that

Mr. Newmann, you are forever banned from posting brisket pictures like that unless you're willing to ship me at least 20 pounds from any one of those sources.

Agree! It takes charcoal briquettes to get rings like that, but that's not all they're doing. Would love to learn from one of those places.

Looking at those 4 pictures, Blacks looks the best to me.

You can substitute some shoulder clod like my favorite local Patillo's. Love this place, smoke soaked walls since the 1930's.

Colic is a real pain. Hang in there. I've got 4 kids under 8 years old and I'm getting greyer by the minute lol

If anyone here finds themselves in North Dallas you gotta check out Hutchins BBQ. They have a location in Frisco and McKinney Texas. Best BBQ I've ever tasted. Voted top 50 in the world. Honestly didn't know meat could ever taste so good and I'm a bit of a BBQ snob.

I agree.. Black's has it all with the smoke ring, texture, and bark. I've been planning on attending a smoking school down in Savannah GA.... just haven't done it yet.

I have 2 over 20 and a just turned 16 year old touring Europe ATM, my mates are calling me "The Ghost". I hate to tell you, It doesn't get any easier as they get older.
When they start walking they are stressful, wait until they start driving. Sleep, what's that? laughing

Thanks for answering my question about Brisket.

Thanks my man! It will work out for sure. Come to middle TN and check either Edley's or Top Hog. Both are legit. Back home outside of Chattanooga, it was Masterblaster or Couch's
